I think I was lucky: Spitz's portrait of the most influential band of the twentieth century is precise, rigorous and often funny, despite its bulk. It focuses on the creative core of the Beatles, the human and artistic relationship between John and Paul, probably the most prolific and most gifted musician duo of all time.
